SSC Stenographer Nationality 2025

To be eligible for the SSC Stenographer exam, candidates must meet one of the following nationality criteria:

  • Indian Citizen
  • Citizen of Nepal or Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the aim of permanent settlement.
  • Person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intent to permanently settle in India.

SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria for Ex-Servicemen 2025

You’re eligible if you’ve served in the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force, regardless of your rank (whether combatant or non-combatant). This also includes those who have:

  • Retired, been discharged, or relieved after completing your service, voluntarily left, or left due to inefficiency, and you’re receiving a gratuity and pension from the Indian Territorial Army.
  • Served in the Army Postal Service (Regular Army) and retired due to medical reasons or without rejoining your parent service, provided you’re receiving a pension.
  • Been on deputation in the Army Postal Service for over six months before April 14, 1987.
  • Received a Gallantry award while serving in the Armed Forces, which includes Territorial Army Personnel.
  • Been recruited and then had to leave due to medical reasons, subsequently receiving a medical disability pension.
